About the role:
At the Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement (SCLA), our mission is to honor student achievement and empower the next generation of leaders. As a Chapter President, you’ll be at the heart of this mission, creating opportunities for your peers to build the skills and confidence they need to thrive after college. This isn’t just an internship—it’s a chance to make a real impact on your campus and leave a legacy that will support future leaders for years to come.
In this paid role, you’ll establish and lead an SCLA chapter, collaborating with administrators, engaging with students, and organizing both live and virtual events over the course of two semesters. You’ll be building a lasting community that fosters personal and professional growth, all while gaining real-world experience that employers value. What you'll do:
- Be the face of SCLA on your campus! Partner with our national team to get your chapter
registered as a student organization and engage with students and campus groups to bring SCLA’s mission to life. - Partner with faculty and administrators to secure departmental sponsorship, ensuring your chapter has the support it needs to thrive—SCLA’s national team will have your back every step of the way.
- Take the lead in organizing 1-2 impactful member events per semester with support from
SCLA’s National Office. These events will be where your chapter shines and makes its mark. - Contribute to shaping SCLA’s future programs, helping us build initiatives that enhance
career outcomes for students just like you. - Participate in leadership training and organize local activities, all while building essential
skills that will boost both your résumé and your confidence. - Connect virtually with Chapter Presidents from other schools to exchange ideas, collaborate on programs, and share experiences—because together, we’re stronger.
- Assist in creating visuals such as graphics, images, and short videos (experience in Canva or other design platforms is a plus)

Who you are:
- Preferred majors include Business, Marketing, Leadership, Hospitality, or related fields— but we’re open to reviewing other academic backgrounds!
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience in social media or marketing (internships, personal projects) is a bonus
- Proven ability to build meaningful relationships, creating connections with students and
faculty alike - Self-driven and entrepreneurial mindset, while also thriving in a collaborative team
environment - Demonstrated grit and problem-solving in past experiences
- A preferred GPA of 2.5 or higher
