Advisory Profile

Carola Weil joined American University (AU) September 2012 as the inaugural dean of the newly established School of Professional and Extended Studies, dedicated to cross-disciplinary experiential life-long learning. Prior to joining AU, she served as Associate Dean for Planning & Strategic Initiatives and Director for International Partnerships for the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism.

Previously she has served in leadership roles with non-profit organizations dedicated to the mentorship and the advancement of civic engagement, conflict transformation and development, such as the U.S Institute of Peace, Women In International Security, and the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation. She has held teaching and research appointments in international relations and public diplomacy at USC, George Washington University, and the Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
